What logged-out visitors can reach
A public profile's grid, individual posts and reels generally load without a session. Stories are the awkward case: instagram.com pushes a login wall almost immediately, even though the underlying content is public.
Third-party viewers work around this by requesting the public data directly rather than through the app interface.
The login wall problem
Scrolling a public profile on instagram.com without an account usually gets a few seconds before a modal blocks the page. Dismissing it is not possible; the prompt is the point.

Doing it without signing up
