Why your name shows up in the first place
Instagram records a view the moment the Story frame is rendered inside a logged-in session. The viewer list is tied to your account session, not to your device — which is why muting, airplane mode, or fast-scrolling tricks are unreliable.
Loading the same public Story through a separate service means there is no logged-in session to attribute the view to, so nothing is added to the list.
What an anonymous viewer can and cannot do
Watcholy only works with public Instagram accounts. It cannot access private profiles, direct messages, or anything Instagram does not already show publicly.
