When your Story viewer list will not load

Usually one of four things, and only one of them is an actual bug.

The 24-hour cutoff

Viewer lists are only available while the Story is live. Once it expires, the list goes with it — the archived copy shows no viewers. This is the single most common cause and it is working as intended.

Nobody has viewed it yet

A freshly posted Story shows an empty list until the first view lands. On a small account that can take a while.

Partial or stuck lists

Very high view counts load in pages and can stall. Force-closing and reopening the app usually resolves it, as does switching networks.

Accounts that will never appear

People who blocked you, and anyone who viewed the public Story without being logged in, are simply not in the data. The list is a record of logged-in views, not of everyone who saw it.

Watcholy only works with public Instagram accounts. It cannot access private profiles, direct messages, or anything Instagram does not already show publicly.

Frequently asked questions

Can I see viewers of an archived Story?
No. Viewer data is not retained past expiry.
Why is the count higher than the names?
The list paginates. Keep scrolling, or reopen it if loading has stalled.
Does a blocked account show up?
No, they cannot see your Story at all.

Let Watcholy do the watching
